Building Password Garage: Progress Update #1 - Landing Pages, Random Passwords, and PlayFab Magic
Remember how I promised to take you along on my Password Garage adventure? Well, buckle up, because this week, I made some serious progress—and had a few head-scratching moments too.
The Landing Page: A Digital Welcome Mat
First things first: every app needs a good first impression, right? This week, I built the landing page for the Password Garage mobile application. Think of it as the sleek garage door to our secure password vault. I kept it simple yet functional, with a clean design to ensure users feel at home (or rather, "at garage") as soon as they open the app. It’s not just about looks; it’s the promise of security wrapped in an intuitive interface.
Random Password Generator: The MVP of Security
Next, I dove into creating the random password generator, and boy, was that fun! I wanted to ensure Password Garage generates strong, complex passwords without compromising on usability. After a few tweaks, my generator now spits out masterpieces like H&g!7aX3oL—the kind of password that makes hackers cry and users say, "Okay, I'll save it in the garage!"
PlayFab Authentication: Building a Trustworthy Lock
This week also marked my first encounter with PlayFab authentication. If the landing page is the garage door, PlayFab is the lock that keeps unwanted visitors out. Implementing it was a mix of "This is cool!" and "Why won’t you work?!" moments, but now it’s up and running. Users can log in securely, paving the way for seamless access to their password vaults.
Lessons Learned & What’s Next
Building these features reminded me why I love programming—it’s all about solving puzzles (and occasionally creating new ones). This coming week, I’ll focus on further refining the UI and adding encryption for user data. Stay tuned for some cryptography tales and more "aha" moments.
